The valley that raised the bar.

Hunza is the journey people imagine when they imagine Pakistan, and it is better than the photographs. Thousand-year-old forts, orchards that turn gold in October, a landslide that became a lake, and at the end of the road, 4,693 metres at Khunjerab.

The practical truth of this route. Ask us anything else on WhatsApp.

How fit do I need to be?

Easy to moderate. Walking is optional everywhere and the 4x4s do the climbing. Tell us about any conditions beforehand. Ask on WhatsApp

What about connectivity?

Towns have data, the high valleys do not. Treat the silence as part of the route. Ask on WhatsApp

Cash or card?

Bring cash from the big cities. Cards rarely work beyond them, and ATMs are thin in the valleys. Ask on WhatsApp

Will I feel the altitude?

Hunza sits at a gentle 2,438 metres and the itinerary paces you before the Khunjerab day at 4,693. Most people feel nothing but wind. Ask on WhatsApp

Tour de Swat looked after us magnificently for 6 days while we travelled around the indescribably beautiful northern mountain areas of Pakistan. Hunza Valley, Skardu, Gilgit, the Karakoram Highway, always surrounded by breathtaking views. I really can’t recommend Mohsin our guide, all his team, our driver and the area highly enough.

It is now a little over four days since returning from Pakistan and my heart is full of happiness and shared joy. The whole team went out of their way for us at every step of the journey.
